Summer 2012

 Hello to all!

We hope this summer finds you all well. We are doing great. I feel like I always know a little about what you are all up to from Facebook, and that is a blessing! I hope you all feel the same way about us. Often times when I post pictures of Stella or funny little things she's said, I am thinking of you and how you might enjoy seeing or reading about her.
Stella is her usual vivacious self. We call her our 'Ray of Sunshine' because that perfectly describes her. Others often make similar comments...she is just so outgoing, friendly, easy to talk to, funny and cute that people can't help but love her the minute they meet her.
This summer she has taken swimming lessons and is getting to be a pretty good swimmer. She can swim across most the pool by herself and float on her back. Because it's so darn hot here during the summer months, it's about all we can do is go swimming every day. So, we do! She is so tan that she told me the other day, in all seriousness that, "pretty soon she will look like a black lady."
We've spent quite a bit of time this summer at my parents' cabin about 2 hours north of here because it's cool, in the pines and located in a fun/quiet little town. She absolutely loves it. When we're there she's a little out-door girl, getting dirty all day, exploring in the woods, gathering rocks, etc...although I think what she really loves is that usually her cousins come with us and so it's sleepover after sleepover with them!

Stella just went to the doctor for her 4 year old well check. She is 40 inches tall and weighs in at 31 pounds. We're just proud she's over 30 lbs! :) She was very healthy and her doctor was impressed at how good her vocabulary is and how high she can count...to 30! She can write her name and identify most letters of the alphabet. While we were there, she proceeded to show him every single place where she has ever had a scrape or bruise, etc.

A funny story about her - a few months ago a friend of ours was visiting. She asked where he lived and we told her, Utah. She looked at me and looked back at him, then said, "UTAH?? What?? That's where babies come from!!" We all thought that was so funny and clever. She knows that both she and her sister were born in Utah and that Cameron and I went there to pick them up. So, apparently, she thinks that all babies are born there and that all parents just go there to get them! :)

Stella is starting another year of preschool this year at a new preschool teacher's house...Mrs. Daniels. She is very excited, mostly because her best friend, Annie, is going to be in the same class. But, Stella loves to learn and be social. So, preschool is one of her favorites. She'll also be starting into her dance classes again - this year I think she's going to take a hip-hop dance class! I think it will be so cute.

Here are some pictures of her. I hope you enjoy them.

Another Easter Egg Hunt. This girl can really find those eggs!

Year-end dance performance. She did so great!

 Her dance class.

This year we got her a caterpillar and let her watch it go from caterpillar to cocoon and then hatch into a butterfly. She loved watching it each day. This is the day that it was time to let the butterfly go...she was very brave and was happy to see it fly away into the tree.

Swimming at a beach-pool that's near our home. We go here each week with her cousins. She loves it because it has real sand and a big beach entry.

Winter 2011 - 2012...

Hello! I hope you're all doing well!

I've been meaning to post a few pictures of our most recent family pictures for you. They were actually taken before Christmas. But, I hadn't had a chance to get them posted yet.

Stella is doing great. She is such a little joy. After three and a half years, we are still amazed and delighted by her, every single day.

She's acting more and more like a little girl now, instead of a baby or toddler. She is so funny and likes to tell jokes and tease everyone. She's amazingly smart and mature. She says the funniest things and is the most friendly, outgoing little three-year-old in the world.

She's now 29 pounds and 36 inches. Her hair is finally starting to get a little bit of length on it - but is still shorter than most the other girls her age. It's still curly - but not quite as curly as it was when she was younger. Her tubes have fallen out of her ears now - and she's on her first set of double-ear infections since the tubes came out a month ago. So - hopefully she's not on her way toward a second set of tubes. She's obsessed with holidays and is always asking me about which one is coming up next - currently she's very excited for Easter, she tells me almost every day. She likes to go to dance class and loves her preschool class. She loves her little friends and always wants to have 'play overs' (play dates) with them. Her cousins are, by far, her favorite people in the world right now (especially the older girl cousins). And now she has a brand new baby girl cousin and she's been so excited for her to arrive. She has a total of sixteen first cousins right now - and she loves them all dearly.

Overall, she's doing wonderfully and we can't express how much we love and adore her. She is a special little spirit.

Here are a few pics.

Fall 2011..

Hi, Spencer and Everyone!

We hope you're all doing well.

Our family has had a busy and fun fall so far. Stella continues to grow smarter and funnier and cuter, every day. She honestly says the funniest and smartest things every day. It just amazes us and provides us with constant enjoyment and entertainment.

She continues to love her preschool class. She is so social, she loves all the kids in her class and they love her too. She is still in a little dance class and a gymnastics class too. She really loves the gymnastics class the most right now. She's actually starting to get a cartwheel down. :)

As you can see from the pictures, she was Cinderella for Halloween. She had picked that out months in advance and never changed her mind. So, she had a great time dressing up as Cinderella and even tried to do her 'best princess smile' all day long! Ha, ha. This was the first year we actually took her 'trick or treating' around the neighborhood. She thought it was the best thing ever and still talks about it almost every day. She also had a school party, a church party and a party at her grandma's house. So, she got some serious use out of the costume this year! She asked me yesterday if she could be 'Sleeping Beauty for Christmas'. So, now she thinks she is supposed to dress up for every holiday!

Tomorrow we'll be spending Thanksgiving at my mom's house. Stella is excited to play with her cousins, but not so excited to eat turkey. She's pretty sure she won't like it...and she's probably right. She still has a palate that consists basically of peanut butter and honey sandwiches, chicken nuggets, spaghetti-o's, yogurt, apple sauce and crackers. :( We're doing our best, though, to keep her tummy full despite her lack of enjoyment over food.

We hope you enjoy the pictures.
